A New Series for the Blog

I've been taking some time, these first few weeks of  January, to reboot and really reflect on what I want this blog to be. In this past year I've been focusing on consistent posting (starting in the middle of the year, don't judge me). This year I want to push myself to not only continue but also create more curated content, a larger expression of what this was intended to be from the start. I’ve always wanted to give insight about the process of developing invitation suites, to offer personal stories of love, marriage and parts in between, all the while sharing my experiences and what inspires me.

I've decided to start a new series called “Love Notes”. The final work I do for clients can always be found on My Work page so I wanted to use this series as a platform to reveal what you don’t see and give context to my client's story. It will be more about the process and how we arrived at the end result. I am by no means a writer, I want to make that clear (my husband Dom only has so much time to edit my posts for me), but I am a creative person. Regardless of writing ability I want to tell the stories that I’ve come across being in this business.

I know not everyone has gone through the process of having something custom made. It's a very individualized experience and varies from person to person. Some clients come to me with no solid idea of what they want and others have months of Pinterest boards ready to go. I've had brides who like to collaborate on DIY projects, things that I design but they implement, and I've had brides that want me to do everything from conceptualizing to mailing out the invitations. Everyone's journey will be different, that's the beauty of creating something custom.

I'll also use this series to write about couples close to me, parents, grandparents etc to show their story. I'm currently trying to track down my maternal grandparents wedding invitations. Even if they don't turn up I do have an amazing video from their wedding day, something that inspired me to come up with this series. I’ll be sharing my story in a couple weeks, so be on the lookout!

What would you like to see more of this year?
