Branding: A Sweet Project

Working with Clare and Ashley 3 years ago for my wedding and again 1 year ago to create their business branding has been such a treat. Butterscotch Baking Co. is a catering company based out of Kansas City, Missouri focusing on wedding cakes and dessert bars. Clare, who is my younger sister and Ashley, her business partner started this company last year after working on a few weddings together (my own being their first) and receiving rave reviews. The dessert bar at my wedding is something my friends and I still salivate over to this day! 

"Butterscotch" was something that reminded both of them of favorite treats and memories from their childhood. Clare and Ashley have such a great dynamic and their fun personalities really shine through their desserts. Clare, who is classically trained in French baking and Ashley in Italian come together so perfectly. The desserts they create for their clients are unique yet classic so I set out to create a hand drawn typeface to capture that. My favorite part is the secondary mark I created for them and show here in a pattern, to use on business collateral such as stickers and wax paper (coming soon!).
